My name is Grant Monnig and I will be entering my second year of Theology at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, St. Louis, MO. I was born and raised in Glasgow, MO where I attended St. Mary’s Catholic grade school through the 8th grade. Growing up, my mom and dad (who is the principal at St. Mary’s) made sure the faith was central to me and my two siblings lives.
After high school, I attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City, where I really began to see ways to integrate my Catholic faith into concrete action. Being a competitive person in High School, I also had the privilege at Rockhurst of being a member of the lacrosse team, which brought me a lot of joy. I graduated from RU in the spring of 2014 with degrees in Theology and History.
Midway through college, I knew that I needed to have a career helping others if I was going to be happy. After a lot of prayer, I felt God was calling me to help others as a priest, so I entered the Seminary to explore that call.
I enjoy being a part of a community of men at Kenrick-Glennon who are seeking to follow the will of God and draw closer to Christ while exploring the call to priesthood.
