Hometown: Hartville, MO

Home Parish: Immaculate Heart of Mary parish

Seminary: Sacred Heart School of Theology

Prior to entering the seminary

Working for my Dad doing government contracts in the electrical field.  Before that I was working in the public school system in South Dakota as head of the Maintenance Department.  I also was playing banjo in my spare time and teaching people how to play; and trained horses in South Dakota.

Enjoy most about the seminary

Learning about myself and earning a degree.  Also learning that I can adjust to the academics so far and I feel confident that I am up to the challenge.  I also enjoy my friends and going to Mass and being surrounded by priests.

Favorite thing I have learned while in seminary

Math!!  I can’t believe I am actually learning Math!!  I am learning about myself and seeing where I need to grow.

Reason for entering the seminary

I decided that I want to spend the rest of my life serving others as I haven’t done enough in the past.  I want to be able to discern God’s call in my life and, so far, looks promising.  I want to see if God wants me to serve in his church as a priest.
